ActiGraph and PKG Health Partner to Improve Outcomes in Neurology Trials

PENSACOLA, FL, June 12, 2024 – ActiGraph, the leading provider of wearable digital health technology (DHT) solutions for clinical drug development and public health research, announced today a new partnership with PKG Health to integrate PKG’s clinically validated, globally deployed algorithms into ActiGraph’s proprietary CentrePoint Cloud Platform. This partnership allows ActiGraph to provide a broad new range of fit-for-purpose digital measures supporting clinical trials for movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and Essential Tremor.

The PKG® system contains the most comprehensive library of measures for movement disorders. PKG algorithms for bradykinesia, dyskinesia, tremors, fluctuations, sleep, gait, and other clinically meaningful symptoms have undergone rigorous analytical and clinical validation and have been used for years in numerous clinical trials across all stages in both disease modifying and symptomatic product types.  See extensive clinical evidence at www.pkghealth.com/evidence.

“Traditional measures such as patient diaries or periodic physical exams have significant limitations, such as a lack of objectivity and sensitivity, and fail to adequately capture disease fluctuations for patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders,” says Christine Guo, Chief Scientific Officer, ActiGraph. “When deployed in conjunction with our ActiGraph LEAP wearable, the PKG algorithms provide drug developers with a powerful new tool for their clinical research programs.”

PKG is joining ActiGraph’s AccelerantTM partnership program, designed to advance the use of digital health technologies (DHTs) in clinical development by simplifying CROs’ and technology vendors’ access to raw data streams. The PKG algorithms will leverage ActiGraph’s CentrePoint Cloud algorithm container system, a cutting-edge, modular software architecture that allows third party algorithms to be easily configured and deployed in isolation from the rest of the platform. This enables PKG to release new versions of their algorithms without impacting existing studies.

“PKG is excited to offer our gold standard algorithms in partnership with ActiGraph,” says Zach Henderson, CEO of PKG Health. “The combination of our clinically proven algorithms and their end-to-end digital health technology (DHT) offering brings a much requested, truly unique value proposition to biopharma and medical device customers in the clinical trial space.”
